Why the
Maldives needed this.
The Maldives is the most beautiful place on earth. That is not a marketing claim — it is a simple fact acknowledged by millions of visitors every year. Yet for all its extraordinary natural beauty, the Maldives had never offered its guests a way to truly fly over it.
The idea was simple: connect two islands with a zipline, and let people experience the turquoise ocean from the air. Not from a boat. Not from the shore. From above — 428 metres of open water, island to island, with nothing beneath them but the Indian Ocean.

Building over
open ocean.
A zipline over open ocean is not a standard construction project. Salt air, strong ocean winds, tidal conditions, and the demands of a tropical climate create challenges that no inland zipline faces. Finding the right installation partner was critical.
After extensive research, the team partnered with Malaysian specialists who had years of experience designing and operating ziplines across Southeast Asia. Together, they engineered a system built specifically for open-ocean conditions — with a passive braking system that ensures every landing is smooth and safe.
The installation is aligned with European standards governing ropes course design, construction, and operation — the same standards that govern the world's most professional adventure parks.
